This is our most up-to-date catalog of video and DVD programs. When browsing through our catalog, please note that two different price tiers apply to a number of our titles:
Order video/DVD purchases and rentals online with a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express) or authorized institutional Purchase Order using our secure shopping cart. Please see the Payment section below for more information. You will receive an immediate confirmation of your order by email. If there are any changes in pricing, discounts that apply, or if your item is on back order, we will contact you. If you are using a Purchase Order, please fax or mail us the actual Purchase Order; we must receive this before we can ship your order. The complete contact information of the accounts payable department and the name of the person authorizing the payment must be included on the Purchase Order.
A printer friendly order form may be generated through our online shopping cart system or by using the printable order form below if you prefer to fax or mail in your order. Please complete all of the information necessary and if using a Purchase Order, please include this with your form. If applicable, please specify screening dates for purchases and rentals. We request at least two weeks advance notice prior to your screening, otherwise, a $20 rush fee may be added to regular shipping charges. To expedite delivery, you may also provide us with your Fed Ex account number and add a $5 handling fee, rather than paying the rush shipping fees as specified below in Shipping and Handling.
For transactions originating within the state of California, sales tax applies to purchases, rentals and handling fees (tax is not applied to shipping charges).
Pre-payment is required prior to shipping unless ordering with an authorized institutional Purchase Order. Payment must be received by the Center for Asian American Media (CAAM) within 30 days of receipt of invoice when using a Purchase Order. Penalty fees may be added to all delinquent payments.

The purchase prices for libraries, colleges, schools, institutions, businesses, government agencies and community groups include public performance rights for the life of the tape or DVD. The public performance rights are for non-paying audiences only. Once purchased, the programs are licensed for direct projection by the acquiring institution only, e.g., classroom showings, or closed-circuit television limited to within the physical property of the purchasing institution. Duplication, reproduction, alteration, subleasing, television and internet broadcast, or commercial use (i.e., charging admission) are strictly prohibited without prior written consent from CAAM or unless otherwise indicated.

All purchases are FOB San Francisco, California or FOB Harriman, New York. Shipping and handling charges will be billed to the client.
The rental fee listed is for one screening only. Second screenings are billed at 50% of the rental fee; all subsequent screenings are billed at 25% of the rental fee. The rental fee includes public performance rights for non-paying audiences only. Screenings where admission is charged are usually billed at a percentage of projected box office income. Please call us to discuss availability and fee before ordering.
Please remember to specify the date of your screening(s).
Return shipping is the responsibility of the renter and must be insured and shipped via UPS, DHL or FedEx on the first business day following the last scheduled screening. Late return fees apply; if rentals are returned later than two weeks after the screening date, the client will be billed for the full purchase amount.
Insurance for return shipping: Videos up to 30 minutes long should be insured for $200; up to 60 minutes, $300. For film prints up to 30 minutes, insure for $300; up to 60 minutes, $600.
At this time, rentals are not available outside the U.S.
NOTE: When you purchase or rent these programs, keep in mind that a good portion of the price is returned to the filmmaker or production company in royalties, helping them to recover production costs or invest in a new project.
Unless indicated, our DVDs are formatted as DVD-R, which are not region encoded. They should play without problems on most recent DVD players anywhere in the world. However, DVD-Rs may not play on all DVD equipment. Please make sure that your player can play DVD-R discs before ordering titles in that format.
Video/DVD previews are available for a two week (14-day) period at a nominal fee of $15 to instructors for evaluation purposes only; use in the classroom or for public performance is strictly prohibited and subject to payment/fees. The preview fee includes shipping and a $10 credit will be applied if you decide to purchase or rent the title. At this time, previews are not available outside the U.S.

For institutional/educational orders, materials are shipped prepaid via standard UPS-Ground unless otherwise arranged. We cannot ship to post office boxes unless you request shipping via U.S. Postal Service.
Videotapes & DVDs: shipping and handling fees are as follows:
$15 when ordering just one unit
$10 each when ordering 2 -5 units ($20 for 2 units, $30 for 3, etc.)
$8 each when ordering 6 – 9 units
Please call for rates when ordering 10 units or more.
16mm & 35mm FILMS: $25 handling fee per reel plus actual weight charge via FedEx. Please contact us for availability.
Delivery for standard shipping takes approximately 7-10 business days upon receipt of order information and payment or authorized institutional purchase order.
RUSH ORDERS: we ship via FedEx or UPS 2-Day or FedEx Standard Next Day. Add an additional $20 for 2-Day rush service or $25 for Next Day rush service to the regular shipping charge. If priority overnight delivery is required, please contact us. Please note that all rush orders must be received by 12 noon (Pacific Standard Time) for shipments to be sent out the same-day. Orders received after 12 noon (Pacific Standard Time) will be shipped the next business day.

Note: The Center for Asian American Media is not responsible for unforeseen delays in shipping. We will do our best to avoid delays and to remedy situations, but full charges will still apply if such a delay occurs.
Please contact us before placing your order to verify that the title(s) you want are available for purchase in your country. Please note that the prices listed are for DVD* or NTSC VHS (U.S. standard). If you require a PAL VHS, please contact us regarding availability and pricing. Rentals and previews are not available outside the U.S.
The shipping and handling charge is $45 for the first tape or DVD. For more than one unit, please contact us for pricing.
We only accept payment in U.S. dollars. You may pay by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or American Express), by international money order or with a check drawn in U.S. funds. Wires or bank transfers will require an additional fee. Please contact us for more information.

If a tape or DVD is damaged after purchase or you wish to upgrade a previous purchase to the DVD format, a replacement copy may be obtained for $50, plus shipping and handling. All tapes or DVDs must be returned prior to replacement or upgrade.
In addition to our special K-12/Public Library/Non-Profit pricing, we may also offer multiple volume discounts on orders of four or more titles. Depending on the size of the orders we will make efforts to reduce fees on shipping and handling. Please contact us for more information or wholesale/sub-distribution inquiries.
Cancellations must be received in writing at least ten working days before your screening date. Renter is responsible for the rental, shipping and handling fees on orders already shipped.
All sales are final unless damaged or defective and must be returned within 30 days of purchase for replacement.
Broadcast and cablecast licensing is available for some titles. Please call for more information.
Renter assumes full responsibility for loss or damage to materials while in his/her possession or during transit back to CAAM. Please insure rental returns wisely as established above. If materials are lost or damaged, renter is liable for the full replacement cost. Renter is also responsible for any film print damage beyond normal and reasonable wear and tear. Renter will be billed for replacement of footage of any damaged film.
All films and videos are protected by United States copyright law. Unless otherwise indicated, duplication, reproduction, alteration, subleasing, television and internet broadcast, or commercial use (i.e., charging admission) are strictly prohibited without prior written consent from CAAM.
We carry a selection of video/DVD titles that are available for personal use only. These videos/DVDs may be used in the home or non-public place for personal viewing or viewing with family and friends. These films and videos may not be screened, loaned or broadcast for any group for either educational or commercial purposes. Any institution or representative wishing to purchase copies for organizational use should refer to our institutional/educational pricing policies. All home use purchases must be paid for in advance by credit card, check or money order.
