Activism, Aging, World Wide Diaspora, New Immigrants and Refugees (Past & Present)
With assistance from Gurinder Chadha ('Bend It Like Beckham', 'Bride and Prejudice'), the residents of a home for South Asian British elderly shoot their own video, interviewing a wide range of subjects - from people on the streets to members of Parliament. This spirited video reveals generational attitudes, cross-cultural values and everyday problems faced by older, often neglected citizens. Ultimately though, with passion and dignity, they prove that it’s never too late to take matters into your own hands.
“Their frustration, despair, nobility and humour shine through...Chadha’s film captures these characters on film and gives them space to breathe.”
- Deepak Kalha
